Learn to Sew a Zippered Cushion with Jess

Complete any room with a unique, handmade cushion to suit your décor. In this half day workshop, you will learn how to accurately measure, cut, and sew an 18”, zipped cushion cover in your choice of fabric. The skills you learn can then be taken away to make a cushion of almost any shape and size, equipping you to create beautiful cushions to update any interior. See full details below.

Please note that a machine that has been sat unused for some time will likely need a service in order to run to its full potential.

Skill Level: Beginner - foundational machine sewing knowledge required

Course Duration: Saturday 27th May 1pm-4pm

You will need to bring:

Tools:

Sewing machine in good working order

Good quality fabric scissors

Fabric pinking shears

General sewing kit to include: pins, seam ripper, tailor's chalk or other fabric marker

Materials:

1 metre of woven fabric - ideally furnishing weight but other cotton types would be suitable

Matching thread

Half a metre of continuous zipping with a glider

About your tutor:

Jess has been making soft furnishings professionally for around 8 years. She started out by running her own business where she made children’s soft furnishings, lampshades and accessories before joining the Truro Fabrics team in March 2016 where she creates all of the beautiful made to order lampshades for our customers.
