McCall's pattern M7950.
This quintessential summer dress has a pretty button-down closure at the front and a fitted, self-faced bodice with a gathered skirt. With three design variations included, choose from plain or tie shoulder straps, a tie-front or button-down bodice. You can add or omit pockets from the skirt too. You could even lengthen the straps and hack a crossover back!
This pattern is great for confident beginners to intermediate makes; you'll be fitting a self-faced bodice (using your fabric as the facing, this means it'll also look pretty on the inside!), and creating button holes.
This pattern is available in sizes 6-14 or 14-22. Remember to always check your body measurements with the pattern to ensure the correct size.
Fabric suggestions: For a soft, swishy vibe, look for viscose challis lawns or crepes. For a slightly more structured look, choose ginghams, cotton poplin, cotton lawns or linen and linen blends.
You will also need: 3/4” (2 cm) buttons: seven for Views A, B; eleven for Views C, D.
