Discover the joy of jelly rolls with this day course for quilters and patchworkers! Katrina will guide you through how to measure and rotary cut, piece fabrics and co-ordinate colours to create a beautiful quilt top using a jelly roll.

This workshop is perfect for those who have established some basic machine sewing skills.

Come and learn a new skill in a relaxed, friendly environment. Our brand new studio space is located opposite our city centre store in the heart of Cornwall.

Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate

Course Duration: Saturday 13th May, 10:00am - 16:00pm

You will learn:

How to accurately measure

Pressing techniques

Improve rotary cutting techniques

How to piece fabric with accuracy

How to colour coordinate fabrics

You will need to bring:

Tools:

Sewing machine in good working order

1/4 inch or piecing foot for your machine

Spare sewing machine needles

General sewing kit including: scissors, pins, rotary cutter, long quilting ruler, cutting mat

Materials:

One Jelly Roll

Half a metre of co-ordinating fabric

One metre of contrasting fabric

Neutral coloured cotton thread - we recommend Gutermann

About your tutor:

Katrina has been teaching patchwork and quilting for 12 years in workshops, one to ones, and quilting groups. Katrina likes to focus on beginners and achievable projects as it’s her passion to be able to share her knowledge and skills to start you on your patchwork and quilting journey. Her previous students will tell you that the feeling they got after making their first quilt was one of elation. There’s nothing quite like the natural high of creative achievement. Katrina puts love into all the quilts she makes, and she loves teaching others how to make these quilts too.
