Yarn Spinning: From Fleece to Fibre

Spinning is an ancient craft in which plant, animal or synthetic fibres are drawn out and twisted together to form yarn which can then be used for a variety of textiles.

Nina will show you the basics of fleece preparation and selection as well as how to card sheep’s wool and spin on a drop spindle. You will also have the opportunity to try spinning on a variety of wheels. In this workshop you will learn the foundational skills needed to begin your hand spun fibre journey.

Come and learn a new skill in a relaxed, friendly environment. Our brand new studio space is located opposite our city centre store in the heart of Cornwall.
